Our niche is names ranked 101 to 800 in the US, or unranked entirely. Distinctive without being weird. Stylish without trying too hard.

We are not a database of every name that exists. We are a trusted friend who has done the research and has genuinely good taste.

Who we're for

Parents, often first-time, who:

• Care about how a name sounds, feels and ages
• Want something that stands out at school roll call without being unpronounceable
• Read the etymology, not just the ranking, before they decide
• Trust a curated recommendation more than a list of ten thousand names

How we research names

Every rank and trend on this site comes from the US Social Security Administration's public baby name data, which covers births from 1880 to 2024. When we say a name is rising, falling, or has never cracked the top 100, that is what the SSA numbers show, not a guess.
